When preparing treats, you can place the splash guard on top of the bowl to make it easy to pour in ingredients. This means that wet or dry ingredients do not splatter or smoke when mixing. When you're done, put the bowls, splash guards, whisks and dough hook in the dishwasher. Wash the wire whisk by hand in warm water with detergent.
